Woodinville Rolls Out the Holiday Magic: A Look Back at Our 2025 Tinsel & Tires Bike Drive
Every year, we’re reminded of something special about Woodinville and the surrounding area; when this community sees a need, it shows up with heart, generosity, and, apparently, a whole lot of bikes. This season, at Tend Home Team we wrapped up another incredible holiday bike drive in support of The Forgotten Children’s Fund, and thanks to the kindness of our clients, friends, neighbors, community, and local businesses, we turned our office into what can only be described as a “North Pole Cycle Shop.” And we’re thrilled to share the results.
41 Bikes. 20 Helmets. $1,600+ in Donations. One Grateful Community.
When we launched this year’s holiday bike drive, our goal was simple: collect as many new bikes as possible for kids ages 6–12 who otherwise wouldn’t experience the joy and independence that comes with receiving one. What happened exceeded every expectation. With your support, we collected: • 41 brand new bikes • 20 helmets • More than $1,500 in monetary donations Each bike represents freedom, adventure, and the kind of childhood memory that stays with a kid for life. And each helmet? Safety, confidence, and one less thing for a parent to worry about during a tough season. This wasn’t just a fundraiser; it was Woodinville showing exactly what community looks like.
Why Bikes Matter More Than Ever
There’s something timeless about a child receiving their first bike. It’s not just a gift; it’s a rite of passage. A symbol of independence. A moment where the world suddenly feels bigger and full of possibility. For many of us who raised our families here, we remember our own kids riding at the park, pedaling through the neighborhood, and discovering the simple joy of being on two wheels. This drive ensures the next generation gets to feel that same magic, especially those who might otherwise go without.
Partnering with The Forgotten Children’s Fund

For those who aren’t familiar, The Forgotten Children’s Fund is a volunteer powered nonprofit that brings holiday joy to children and families across Western Washington. Every year, they transform a warehouse into a full Santa’s workshop where “Elf” volunteers wrap gifts, assemble bikes, and prepare deliveries, right down to Santa and Mrs. Claus themselves making personal visits. In 2024 alone, the organization delivered more than 20,000 gifts to over 790 families in our region. This year, with your help, our bike drive will add to that incredible impact. Supporting their mission means giving more than just presents, it’s giving hope, dignity, and the comforting reminder that our community cares.
A Community That Shows Up, and Shows Out
The true magic of this bike drive wasn’t the number of bikes we collected. It was the stories behind them. The business owner who rallied their team to pitch in. The family who dropped off two bikes “because our kids loved theirs growing up.” The neighbor who ordered a helmet simply because they wanted a child to be safe. The person who donated anonymously… twice. This kind of generosity is the heartbeat of Woodinville. It’s what makes this community not just a place to live, but a place to belong.
Looking Ahead, and Giving Thanks
As the bikes head off to their new homes this holiday season, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to every single person who donated, shared our posts, encouraged others, or simply cheered us on. You didn’t just give a bike, you gave joy. You gave freedom. You gave a child a holiday moment they’ll never forget. From all of us at Tend Home Team, thank you for helping us create something meaningful, memorable, and full of holiday spirit. Same time next year? We’ll be ready - and we’ll have more space cleared in the office.
