Parents opt to buy real estate for university-bound kids

Here at Team Troy, we have noticed an increase in requests for condominiums near Seattle’s colleges. As it turns out, savvy parents are opting to purchase homes for their kids headed to college instead of paying outrageous rents for four years. This option allows parents to not only house their own child while they are away at school, but is an income-generator when they get additional roommates. When their child graduates, they can decide to sell it or they can continue renting the property to college students. There have been some instances where a second child attended the same school, so parents were able to continue using the property for 8 years to house their college-aged kids.
